Washed in a strange, contemplative aura reminiscent of New Age pianist George Winston, Parada's collection of solo work unfolds into lulling interplays between major and minor keys. But there is a melodic trickery here that sets Parada's playing apart from composers like Winston and offers moments of diversions wherein notes jump out unexpectedly from chordal drones. "Moving On" for instance, does this with an almost whimsical air, as staccato fragments of lyric phrases play with your ears. "Angel Eyes" gives more resonant, sad variations.
